The AGO: Claymation and Stopmotion Workshop

Running every Saturday from April 1st to June 17th (excluding April 15th), this workshop is art mixed with technology. Like any animation, it takes hard work and patience. Use clay to create different shapes, characters and scenes to make a short film! By working together with your child you can explore along side of them another way to use technology! Take countless photos with the tablets provided to create a stop-motion video that in the end, will seamlessly tell a story!

Art is something that we all know will never not be tangible, but we can incorporate with technology in a memorable way. Art projects like this are hard to save, this way you can create and have the memories forever through the stop-motion short video. The AGO as a corporation is a perfect example of how integrating technology into traditional (art) actives can be easy!

Virtual Learning Online - The Louvre Virtual Tour

As one can probably tell by the second recommendation, I really love art but what I love more are museums...you know, the places that house all that beautiful art. In Canada we have a few museums and galleries, like The AGO from above, but often the older art is found on the other side of the world! Ace Online Schools have amazing virtual tours available on their website, so you and your child can actually feel like your exploring from right at home!

The site not only caters to art lovers like me but to a lot more interests, like a virtual tour of the moon (yes, the moon), a 3D body exploration for the little scientists or a rare book room that houses books from Shakespeare to Galileo.

In this section of the website I try and find at least one up and coming app or event in the GTA that you can participate in with your child/family.
